How do I get my Laptop Wireless connection working again?

I have a G60-507DX Notebook laptop from Hp. I don't know if that is at all necessary on how to get my internet working again but then again I'm not a huge computer person. My lap top's wireless connection button is right next to the power button and usually when I turn the computer off and then back on later my wireless connection button is off which is orange. Sometimes it immediately goes to blue which means its internet thingy is available and I can connect to a server (usually my own home's) but sometimes I have to wait a while and click the button and wait for it to become blue. Well I was gone for like a week and was using another house's connection and it was good but now that I am home I can't seem to get it to work. I am really bummed because I wanted to get on Netflix. I keep pressing the button and I tired looking up whats wrong with it and tried a suggestion which was to take battery out for a few seconds and I did and it didn't work. It usually works fine so I shouldn't have to get any software right?
