Returning a product to argos?

I bought a guitar from argos the other day and I have a 3 year gurantee thingy and its in working order except for one string and i would like to return it. If i have the receipt but not the packaging can i still return it! because technically its faulty! please help because i would like my money back and i don't know if i can !!
