Is it unusual for military personnel to have dabbled in drug use in their past?

not at all. Most people have used drugs. If I was a recruiter to be honest I would want someone who has at least experimented. because that shows their open mindedness and willingness to try new things.. But not someone who uses drugs all the time like it's nothing
