Is my boyfriend way to controlling?

well me and my friend Carson (which is gay all the way) went to a Water park and i told my boyfriend Jared that im going and stuff and he said " okay i love you" && later when i got to my locker i had 3 messages from him and 7 missed calls .... i ignored it but i text ed him saying something well i got home and i text ed him and he didn't really replied my mom called me to the kitchen and saying that Jared text ed her wanting to know where i am and who i am with ! im 14 and hes almost 16 my mom saying that hes being to controlling if he cant go a couple hours not knowing were i am even though i told him im going there and who im going with .... hes been trying to take over my life and been way to controlling that's crazy that he text ed my mom! do you think hes to controlling or no ?
