My twitter won't show me my follower requests !!!?

i saw that little notification thingy on the sidebar that tells me some people are requesting to follow me . i decided to check that out later & when i planned to, it wasnt there anymore ? i wanna accept my requests but i cant because i cant see who wants to follow me ! HELP !!!
